Biomechanics of Movement Research Group is recognized by its work in different cutting-edge fields, such as Biomechanics, Gait Analysis, Biomechatronics and Medical Devices. A demand by a multi-disciplinary team is mandatory. Therefore, the BMRG counts in its structure with a group of researchers from different backgrounds (Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Orthoprosthesis, etc...).

One of the facts that leads to this multidisciplinarity is the straight interaction between the BMRG and the IST. The PhD and M.Sc students are encouraged to develop their projects and thesis in association with the Research Group and with the Laboratório de Biomecânica de Lisboa (LBL).

Moreover, the BMRG was established a set of partnerships with other institutions in the healthcare area (Faculdade de Medicina de Lisboa, Hospital Santa Maria e Hospital da CUF), enabling to share resources and to discuss new ideas in a constructive way.
